Foosball Tips

Foosball Tips

Foosball also is referred to as "table soccer." This game is played with two players standing on opposite ends of a foosball table. Each player is responsible for movable four rods, which have mini versions of soccer players attached to each. The object of the game is to score goals using both offensive and defensive techniques.

Offense

When it's your turn to serve the ball, try and get it to the other players in your five row. This is located in the middle of the foosball table. Wait for the ball to stop at your players' feet. Don't try to pass or shoot the ball while it's still moving as this may cause the ball to land in your opponent's Striker Row. Hold your offensive three-bar (which is your Striker Row) at an angle towards the goal. If a ball is hit to one of these men, the ball will land under the Striker Row so you're able to control it. Pass the ball under one of your rods between the men by using the sides of the men's feet until you're able to shoot the ball clearly to the goal. When shooting for a goal, make sure you've pulled your five-man mid-field bar up and out of the way.

Defense

Keep one of your defensive men on the side that's protecting your goal lined up with the ball the entire time. This way, if your opponent hits a ball with some speed behind it, you may be able to block it with the man lined up to the ball. You also can use one man on your defensive two-bar and the middle man on your defensive three-bar to block the ball. This leaves the other men available to maneuver the ball and dig it out of the corners.

Other Tips

Practice serving the ball to your five-man row. Try different techniques of serving and passing the ball to consistently get it to your players. Also, take your time when preparing to shoot. You usually have 10 seconds to shoot the ball once one of your players has control of it.
